All learner placements are completed by the Western Cape Department of Education. We as a school, we will assist parents in the application process and to capture their details onto WCED database. Parents and guardians living near our school are welcome to apply at our school.     Progression Requirement

    Senior Phase CAPS Progression Requirement

  • Adequate Achievement (Level 4) in one language at Home Language level
  •  
  • Moderate Achievement (Level 3) in the second required official language at First Additional Language level).
  • Moderate Achievement (Level 3) in Mathematics 
  • Moderate Achievement (Level 3) in any three (3) of the other required subjects
  • At least an Elementary Achievement (Level 2) in any two (2) of the other required subjects 

  • Additional Info.
    Immigrant learners may be exempted from achieving one official language provided they obtain at least an Elementary Achievement (Level 2) in all four (4) the remaining subjects A learner may only be retained once in the Senior Phase in order to prevent the learner being retained in this phase for longer than four years.  A learner who is not ready to function at the expected level and who has been retained in the previous phases for four (4) years or more and who is likely to be retained again in the third phase for four (4) years or more, should receive the necessary support in order to achieve an appropriate level of competence in order to progress to the next grade. 

    FET Phase CAPS Progression Requirement

  • Achieved 40% in three subjects, one of which is an official language at Home Language level,
  • Achieve 30% in three subjects

  • Additional Info.
    Provided the School Based Assessment component is submitted in the subject failed. A condonation of a maximum of one subject will only be applied to a Grade 12 candidate in the final National Senior Certificate examination, if such a candidate requires a maximum of 2%, either to obtain a pass at 30% or 40%. Such a condonation will be applied in only one subject, provided the application of the condonation allows the candidate to obtain the National Senior Certificate qualification.
